I don't think it is wrong. If you see that two ponds and the surroundings, it is correct.

Hi Ajay,
Yes, I have full details of the Buddhist relics discovered in Central Travancore area. You can read most of the details in Dr. S. N. Sadasivan's book "A Social History of India", which is available in Google Books for preview.
My enquiry is specifically about the area that you have marked. Is there any Buddhist relics visible there now? Also let me know if there is any house or other structure in the vicinity of the Trikunnapuzha temple which has names such as Ilavanthi, Elavanthi, Lothni or similar sounding. Thanks for the input.
I have PC Alexander's book with me (although it is now out of print).

Dear Sivanand
We have granite buddha sculptures recovered not only in Mavelikkara but also in Karumady near Ambalapuzha and Krishnapuram palace near Kayamkulam. Other major temples in the region like Kiliroor temple in Kottayam, Nilamperur Pally temple etc. show the architectural and cultural links to Buddhism.
Please see the following titles:
Buddhism in Kerala. P C Alexander
Keralathile Buddhamatha Paramparyam. Dr Aju Narayanan.
Hope we can continue this discussion,
regards
